Burger Grilling Tips
We’ve seen some real burger chefs here at the campground and are always impressed with how much care and attention they put into their craft. Grilling the perfect burger requires much more than just dropping a few patties on the grill and cooking them until they are done. We’ll share some tips for achieving burger heaven while you are camping.
Start with a clean grill – turn that baby up on high and let it cook off any remaining food particles left from your last meal. Scrape it well but watch out for any grill bristles that might cling to the racks. They can get into your food and be swallowed so be careful there.
Patty up some really good burger. Premade patties are handy but they fall somewhat short on flavor. You can purchase high quality, fresh ground burger at many of your chain stores and then make it into patties yourself.
Cook them on high. You want to sear the outside so the juices will remain. Then move them to the cooler side of the grill to cook throughout. Searing will also caramelize the meat and add so much flavor.
Let them sit before serving. Give your burgers a few minutes to sit before you dig in. Once taken off the heat, your burger will re-incorporate some of those juices to make it even more delicious.
